Since getting an office job a few months back, I've had to add to my office wear wardrobe but personally, I like wearing things to work that could also be worn at the weekend and aren't your 'typical' suit office look. In my casual outfits I pretty much always wear jeans so for work I like to wear skirts/dresses pretty much everyday and this leather-look skirt is one of my favourites, it just seems to go with so much!

Transitioning Into Autumn

Let me introduce you to my two new favourite pieces in my wardrobe. This amazing faux fur River Island gilet is something that's been on my list for a while and I finally picked it up a few weeks ago after having a rather great discount card from Elle. I can see it taking me into autumn/winter quite well. I also managed to find this dogtooth Michael Kors Selma bag in T K Maxx (for a bargain price!) and it is just the perfect size for everyday and can make an otherwise boring outfit stand out. I'd highly recommend checking out T K Maxx if you're looking for MK or other designer pieces for a fraction of the price. 

I would ideally have like to have paired this look with either a pair of black chelsea boots, which I'm yet to find, or a pair of Ugg boots that I've had my eye on for years now, again, these are yet to be bought! That being said, I think it works just as well with flat shoes like these, especially if it's a slightly warmer day.

The Pink Gilet

I recently started a new job and it's a big change for me in terms of it being an office wear dress code. Me being me though, I'm not one to stick to basics and instead I like to mix it up with patterns, pops of colour and occasionally faux fur. I actually picked this pink gilet up from Matalan, which isn't a shop I usually shop in but I'm so glad I did as it was a bargain for £20! I can see it being great for smarter outfits like this, as well as with more casual jeans and a shirt - I'm having a real faux fur gilet moment as you'll see again in next weeks outfit post...

August Wishlistin'

This seems like a rather confused wishlist, what with the mix of an oversized knitted cardigan, sunglasses and open-toed flats. I think this is my way of trying to dress weather appropriately while secretly wishing it was Autumn - I'm over summer now. Is anyone else feeling ready for Autumn already? It's been rather cold and gloomy lately anyway so I think this wishlist is justified. Bring back coats, boots and lots of layers! 

I'm in need of...chunky knits, suede boots, lace up details, the perfect autumn hat, oversized sunnies and statement necklaces.

Camel & Faux Fur

 

I was feeling rather unmotivated at the weekend after a long week at work so the idea of going outside and posing for outfit photos while dog walkers and cars passed by staring was not exactly top of my list! The result was four semi-okay photos along with a forced smile and many awkward squinty faces...

Grey Marl Turtleneck

Winter has most definitely arrived. It's absolutely freezing at the moment and what better excuse than to bring out the cosiest jumper and coat combination I can find. Let's just say that I'm not the one shivering when wearing this outfit...

Dear Santa, I Want It All...

Festive jumper, check. Oversized cosy coat, check. Knee high boots, check. I think I've pretty much got winter covered with this outfit and that is exactly why I love this season so much, layers are my favourite thing and of course I also relish in the fact I get to buy a million and one new jumpers! 

Faux Fur, Leopard & Camel

The title of this post could be read as a very bad fashion disater but I think they all actually work together well in this outfit. I wore this for work this week and after getting past the initial funny looks from people about the fur - I swear it's as though people haven't seen hats before - I actually really love how it looks and these fur headbands really are as warm as they look. I now can't wait for winter...

Black, White & Grey

You (hopefully) can't tell from these photos but I was preoccupied trying not to get bitten by a giant swan during taking these. I wanted to mix up my backgrounds a bit so decided to go to this lake, completely not realising that with lakes come ducks and swans. Luckily the photos turned out reasonably okay and I still have all my fingers so the swan lost this time around. 

Wednesday Wishlist #15 | H&M

H&M have been on point lately with their A/W offerings and it seems that everything I'm lusting after is of the neutral variety. Camel, brown and pink/grey thrown in for good measure! This is so unlike me  but it seems I'm moving away, slightly, from blacks and into more brownish tones to suit the Autumn months. Of course faux fur has to be included in my weekly wish list and this cream gilet is the perfect item that needs to find its way into my wardrobe asap! Knitwear is going to be my go-to wardrobe staple this season and H&M have the best offerings in my opinion; I currently have my eye on roll necks and this grey marl oversized cardigan. Cosy!

Neutral Tones

Apologies if any of you are bored of the countryside background. The only chance I get to shoot outfit photos is the weekend - the woes of commuting to work - so I try to stay close to home in order to be able to photograph more outfits from the week. I'm thinking I might try to get a few outfits shot in front of building backgrounds next week though just to add a little something different to the blog. Thoughts?

Wednesday Wishlist #13

It seems like this weeks wishlist is a seriously print-heavy one! Leopard, jewel, snake and a Kate Moss graphic, sounds like a great mix to me. I've been wanting an Eleven Paris t-shirt for ages now and of course it has to be this Kate Moss version that I have my eye on. I think it'd look great paired with the jewel skirt from H&M as apposed to a standard white tee. 

And of course what would a wishlist be without a bit of faux fur as autumn/winter is definitely the season to bring out the warmer accessories.

Autumn Lookbook

Camel & Cream

So it seems I finally caved in a bought myself a camel coat. Camel seems to be cropping up everywhere at the moment with Zara and River Island being on top of the pack. I have in fact wanted a camel coat for a while but I've always struggled to find one that is the perfect length, fit and shade and this one fits all of those requirements! 

Autumn Layers

Happy October everyone! I realise I'm a day late with my 1st October celebrations but oh well, here I am doing it all over again anyway. For me, October really signifies Autumn what with Halloween just around the corner and the leaves starting to turn brown. Now all we need is the weather to make up it's mind and get colder fast!

Aztec Fur

Expect to see a whole lot of film-worthy hair swishing in this post, courtesy of the wind that decided to interrupt shooting this outfit. I may as well have had a huge fan in front of me as whatever I did my hair/gilet just wouldn't stay still; I think I managed to choose the least swishy photos to include though! 

Chanel & Leopard

Well, it seems the sunny weather has well and truly ended making way for what is my favourite season, autumn! And autumn means only one thing for me; being able to finally wear coats and boots again.

Duster Coat & Orange Pop

After searching for the perfect duster coat for so long, I finally found one that I absolutely love. Thank you Topshop. I have honestly never purchased something so quickly than I did this, I saw it, tried it, bought it. Done and dusted - pun well and truly intended!

Shearling Jacket

This outfit is neither here nor there, season-wise, the jacket is a complete autumn/winter staple while the dress screams summer. I thought I'd combine the two!

I wore this outfit on Saturday to do a bit of shopping and to visit my grandma. I got this top last week as a treat for handing in my final assignment at university (yay) and I absolutely love it! it's quite over sized so i did have to size down a bit and it creases like no bodies business but other than that its a really nice top. I toyed with the idea of wearing a hat but for some reason I always feel overdressed wearing hats in smaller areas; I'm sure I'll brave it one day! 

I've finished university for good now, so I suppose you could say that I now have several relaxing weeks ahead and yes, I do plan on taking a much needed break - final year is no joke - but I want to focus on my blogging and also my new YouTube channel, which will hopefully have a video up next week! I'm going to enjoy having a bit of down time, taking in the summer and counting down the days until my graduation and trip to Paris in July - eeeek!.
