Pink Faux Fur And Ripped Knees

For today, I'm bringing you a 'I want to wear pastel colours in winter' post. A very weather appropriate one at that. I always feel like I have to wear dark colours only throughout Autumn/Winter and I'm a fan of black clothes as much as the next person, but occasionally I buy something that I just really want to wear, despite it totally going against this rule. Case and point with this pink faux fur number.

I'm finally back with my first outfit post of 2016 and hopefully this will continue as a regular occurrence from now on. On my blogging break, I did forget just how difficult it is to shoot outfit photos during the winter. Let's just say these are the least windswept photos you should expect from me for a while. 

January Sales Haul | Video

I like to save most of my larger, luxury purchases for the January sales as you can get some serious bargains. This year was no exception and I went slightly overboard with my buys but I picked up some pieces that I've been wanting for a while now (and some spontaneous buys) that I thought I'd show you. A lot of these items are still available in-store so hopefully you can get your hands on them too!

Pink Leather Jacket (& a tortoise?!)

I'm finally back with another outfit post and apologies that it's so short, the sun was playing havoc with the quality and so these were the best photos I could find. Hopefully this photo of me and my grandma's tortoise makes up for the lack of actual outfit photos. This tortoise, Freda, has actually been around since I can remember and despite tortoises not being the most active pets (she literally just walks round her run and sleeps), I love visiting her and being the annoying one who picks her up to have a photo taken - at least one of us looks happy in the photo! 

(Almost) Casual Sundays

You can probably tell from my recent outfits that I'm fully embracing spring by injecting a bit of colour (or a lack of black at least) into my wardrobe through lightweight jackets and tops. This weekend was no exception, the weather was beautiful and so it was only fitting that I wore a somewhat casual, but still very spring-themed outfit. I also seem to be having a moment with waistcoats lately...

Studio Zara 5th Avenue, NYC

Living in the country is lovely at the best of times but it doesn't half make taking outfit photos difficult! There's just so many open spaces that the wind is constant, these photos were the best of a really bad bunch, hence the more-than-usual headless crops and close ups. That being said, I do really love this outfit, it's something a little different for me but I can see it becoming a go-to smart/casual look and one that would work with several of my other coats too. 

Rose Gold & Military

After eyeing up this amazing military-style duster coat from ASOS for a few weeks I finally just took the plunge and bought it and I couldn't be happier with how it looks! It's actually surprisingly long on me, which I didn't expect because of my height, I can't believe I've finally been able to find a long length duster coat. I feel like this could be dressed down super casual with some mom jeans and trainers or you could completely dress it up with a skirt or even just like I have with smoke snazzy shoes.

Pink Fuzz

Looking back at these photos, it's dawned on me how much like a pink candyfloss I must have looked! Pink fuzzy coat and a pink furry roll clutch, it seemed a good idea before but now I'm not sure. Too much or not enough pink?! I suppose the rest of the outfit is pretty simple, so the pink overload can be passed by after seeing my plain white shirt and black jeans combination. 

PINK Tres en Vogue

Another windy day here in the UK! I actually got rather a surprise when I uploaded these photos to my computer only to find that there were more usable images than I thought. Please just excuse my rather serious face in most of them; the torrential winds combined with passing people left me less than impressed... 

Casual Dressing: Converse & Shearling

Happy New Year all! For my first post of 2015, I thought I'd start as I mean to go on with an outfit. Hopefully you'll be seeing a lot more style-type posts around here this year, minus the sporadic breaks that seemed to occur more often than not last year. Anyway I won't ramble too much, I hope you all had a lovely New Year's and made lots of resolutions that let's face it, probably won't be stuck to! I want to thank everyone who read/followed my blog during 2014, it's been a great year - hopefully during 2015 there will be a bit more structure with the plan being to post a new outfit every Monday, Thursday and Saturday and a new video every Wednesday and Sunday. Let's see if this all goes to plan! Now onto the outfit...

Faux Fur, Leopard & Camel

The title of this post could be read as a very bad fashion disater but I think they all actually work together well in this outfit. I wore this for work this week and after getting past the initial funny looks from people about the fur - I swear it's as though people haven't seen hats before - I actually really love how it looks and these fur headbands really are as warm as they look. I now can't wait for winter...

Black, White & Grey

You (hopefully) can't tell from these photos but I was preoccupied trying not to get bitten by a giant swan during taking these. I wanted to mix up my backgrounds a bit so decided to go to this lake, completely not realising that with lakes come ducks and swans. Luckily the photos turned out reasonably okay and I still have all my fingers so the swan lost this time around.

Wednesday Wishlist #6 | Autumn

I have officially declared it autumn here in the UK. We haven't seen any sunshine in quite some time now and there's a real chill in the air, hence why this weeks wish list is centred around coats, boots and knitwear - slightly winter appropriate but the colours at least say autumn! Despite owning an array of autumn/winter coats, I always seem to find more each year that I need in my wardrobe and this check printed piece from Topshop looks like it fits this years coat requirements perfectly. 

Grey Marl

Please excuse the mismatched photos in this post. I really like how the sun shined in several of these images but then I also like the regular, plain and simple lighting, so I thought why not, I'll just include them all!

Chanel & Leopard

Well, it seems the sunny weather has well and truly ended making way for what is my favourite season, autumn! And autumn means only one thing for me; being able to finally wear coats and boots again.

Ibiza is a destination I've never visited but have always wondered about. You always hear about the crazy nightlife but I'd love to see what Ibiza is really like. After my city trip to Paris, I really need a beach getaway and through Swimwear365, this could become a reality!

Black

So I suppose you could say that I've slightly cheated with this 'all black' look as it isn't technically all black. I just love how my whiter-than-white converse looked so I had to pair them with this outfit. It was a must. 

Triangl Underwear

If you have instagram or are simply a follower of fashion then you will more than likely have heard of the Australian swimwear brand, Triangl. Their brand signature is block colours, clean black lines and mesh and neoprene textures. And of course, I have to mention the crazy packaging they come in - black, heavy duty storage boxes! 

You can probably imagine my excitement when I received this lovely gift in the post last week featuring the almost neon, Lucie set in 'Candy Pink'. The set fits perfectly and it is honesty the best made set I've ever owned - the quality is definitely there when it comes to Triangl! It's also nice to have such a bright colour as it's a little different for me from the standard black or white. 

One handy little feature of their website is that you can choose separate sizes for the top and bottom, which I think is a great thing. Nothing is worse than finding that either the top is too big or the bottoms are too small (or visa versa) in a matching set! 

Now I just need one of these sets in every colour...one can dream! 

It's a sliders thing

Award for most uninteresting outfit goes to me and this grey and white ensemble. I was clearly feeling rather uninspired this day...
