Pink Faux Fur And Ripped Knees

For today, I'm bringing you a 'I want to wear pastel colours in winter' post. A very weather appropriate one at that. I always feel like I have to wear dark colours only throughout Autumn/Winter and I'm a fan of black clothes as much as the next person, but occasionally I buy something that I just really want to wear, despite it totally going against this rule. Case and point with this pink faux fur number.

Black and Silver Falabella

Since getting an office job a few months back, I've had to add to my office wear wardrobe but personally, I like wearing things to work that could also be worn at the weekend and aren't your 'typical' suit office look. In my casual outfits I pretty much always wear jeans so for work I like to wear skirts/dresses pretty much everyday and this leather-look skirt is one of my favourites, it just seems to go with so much!

Silver Kicks

Coat - Primark
Trainers - Nike (similar here)
Sunglasses - Quay Australia

The sun is still sticking around despite it getting rather chilly as of late and I'm desperately willing the colder weather so I can fully commit to wear coats. That being said, I do love being able to wear sunglasses and not feel like a fool and this just so happens to be the debut of my Quay Australia 'My Girl' sunnies - you know the ones, the ones that literally everyone owns!

I've also added to my ever-expanding trainers collection with these metallic silver Nike's that are not my usual style but I love how they look with this cooled toned outfit; I'm not imagining them with an all black look too. I picked these up at a local Nike Outlet and they were a bargain, I'd definitely recommend giving outlets a go as you can get some great buys for a fraction of the price. The rest of the outfit is press casual with these slouch fitting Mom jeans, a basic white tee and my favourite neoprene coat.

Burnt Orange

This is possibly one of my new favourite outfits, despite it not being very spring-like. The weather seems to not know what it wants to do lately so lightweight jackets and gilets have become my staples and I brought back my favourite shaggy faux fur version for just a few more weeks before it gets just too warm to wear it. I love these sorts of all black outfits that have one item of colour, especially when it's such an autumnal shade like this burnt orange...

Maxi Trench & Superstars

So I actually took these photos just a few hours before this post goes live, my blogger schedule seems to have gone out of the window this week and I've been so last minute with everything! Better late than never though I say. Also, in a turn of events, my hair is straight in these photos and those of you who regularly read my blog/see my outfit posts will probably have noticed that my hair is pretty much always curled or at least waved. I normally only ever wear my hair straight when I've just had it coloured due to 'Mr Root's' showing his ugly face after only a few weeks but I thought why not, I'll just embrace it and wear it straight for a while and I actually quite like it...

Adidas Superstars

I'm really struggling lately with the quality of my photos. I'm using exactly the same camera and lens that I've been using pretty much the whole time but lately my photos have been coming out 90% blurred leaving me very little options to choose from. I do tend to pick out the most 'unblurred' photos so you can't really tell but in this post especially, it's pretty darn obvious that the quality just isn't there. If anyone knows why my camera is doing this then I'd appreciate the help - I have the settings all set up like normal; AV, 1.8f etc etc. Anyway, onto the outfit...

Spring Florals

This has to be one of my all time favourite outfits of mine - and it contains not even a sliver of black! I'm clearly getting in the spring mood with this one what with the serious influx of whitened light-wash denim! I'm actually on the hunt for a denim shirt that will work with these jeans so any suggestions would be very much welcomed...

Spring Wishlist

As everyone keeps mentioning, Spring is on its way and taking at glance at my wardrobe it dawns on me that it mainly consists of black, grey or the occasional white t-shirt. Not exactly spring/summer appropriate eh? It also contains copious amounts of jumpers and coats, none of which will help me very much in this somewhat warmer weather we seem to be experiencing here in the UK.

I've been browsing online for a good week now and have picked out some of the key pieces that I think need to be added to my wardrobe in the not too distant future including a rather lightweight coat alternative in the form of this H&M sleeveless trench - I can envision this worn with a blue and white stripes top and blue jeans. Very spring-like. I've also been looking at dresses and jumpsuits and have picked out these two, both from New Look, as great options for both spring and summer. The jumpsuit I've had my eye on for some time now and the dress just reminds me of a less eye-wateringly expensive version of some Lavish Alice pieces I want.

What's on your spring wish list at the moment?

QuayxShay Aviators

I never used to be a sunglasses person. I used to laugh at people wearing sunglasses on a cloudy day or even indoors but now it seems I have become that person. I adore my baroque-style Prada pair and while they are my favourites, they are very big and sometimes I maybe want to blend in more. Introducing my new Quay Australia 'Vivienne' aviator sunglasses from the 'quayxshay' collection (that's Shay Mitchell, from Pretty Little Liars), which I picked up just over a week ago and haven't worn any others since. I never thought this style would suit me, usually opting for larger, rounder shapes but I actually really like how these look, despite the Top Gun song popping into my head every time I wear them!

Casual (Not) Weekend

You can't actually tell from my miserable face but I was feeling so much joy during taking these photos after finding money in the pockets of this jacket, which has probably been there for months! It's the small things. I never actually wear this jacket but I thought I'd go for a super casual outfit at the weekend and just threw this over the top of my new favourite t-shirt to keep warm.

Neon Nikes

So normally I'm not a trainer person at all and I used to think they were solely reserved for gym use only. I wear them occasionally but I'm far more comfortable in pointed flats or chelsea boots. That being said, I have been embracing trainers more lately (Nike outlets are a dream!) and I've picked up a few new pairs that I'm sure you'll be seeing on here in the not so distant future. This pair is by far the brightest and most daring pair I've bought but having been after a neon pair of trainers for a while, this this just spoke to me and I had to have them! They are the Nike Free 2's I believe (I'm terrible with names)  and they are the comfiest shoes I own, it feels like walking on cushions and despite them being rather loud in colour, the style itself actually looks great and they really casual up an outfit.

Suede It | SS15 Trend

Fashion has a real funny way of moving towards the future while still looking back to the past at the same time. Runways and LFW brought forward the 70s trend into the 21st century with Gucci and Saint Laurent being some of the stand-outs but while we all like to add a bit of quirkiness to our style now and again, that doesn’t mean you want to look like a 70s flashback. Bring hints of the 70s to your look instead with the fabric of the season: suede.

With SS15 comes the new leather. Hang up your stiff, shiny and bulky jackets in exchange for the new (or old) softness of suede. Brown of course is the go-to with this trend up grey and black are also solid contenders for a less ‘hippy’ look.

Now I am a creature of comfort and habit so I'll be sticking with outwear to embrace this trend and both of these jackets are to die for. For those on a budget, this fringed H&M option is perfect to bring in that festival 70s element to your outfit and for those long-term lusters like myself, this Warehouse beauty is perfect thrown over an oversized knit or worn with a basic tee.

A great way to work the suede trend without have to really invest into it is to opt for a bag instead. Tan, grey or black, any will work to inject a bit of this trend into your look without going full-on country girl - or pair a suede bag and mini skirt with an oversized knit or denim shirt for an effortless look.

Are you a fan of the suede trend this season?

Rose Gold & Military

After eyeing up this amazing military-style duster coat from ASOS for a few weeks I finally just took the plunge and bought it and I couldn't be happier with how it looks! It's actually surprisingly long on me, which I didn't expect because of my height, I can't believe I've finally been able to find a long length duster coat. I feel like this could be dressed down super casual with some mom jeans and trainers or you could completely dress it up with a skirt or even just like I have with smoke snazzy shoes.

The Knitted Dress

It was an absolutely beautiful day while taking these photos and I love how it's starting to really feel and look like Spring with daffodils in the background of my photos! I took it as an opportunity to bring out this knitted dress I picked up from Primark last year as I didn't really get the chance to wear it that much. It is rather on the short side but with tights it's fine and layered under my gilet gives a great transitional outfit.

Camel Blanket Scarf

While my usual colour palette of monochrome black and white is well and truly in my comfort zone, I'm really trying to embrace colour, especially when it comes to jeans. I reignited my love for these mom-style jeans in last weeks outfit and here they are once again making an appearance, despite this one still centring around my favourite clothing colour. Black.

Fashion Haul ft. Zara, H&M, ASOS

I've been doing a little bit of shopping over the past few months and thought, what better way to show you than with a haul! I've actually bought more since filming this (oops!) so maybe there will be another collective haul towards the end of the month. Anyway, I hope you enjoy and don't forget to head over to my channel if you want to see all my videos!

A Smarter Look

On a daily basis my outfits mainly tend to lean towards the smarter end of the spectrum with the odd pair of trainers or mom jeans being thrown in to keep them somewhat casual and wearable for everyday. This outfit however is probably one of the smartest outfits you will ever see me wear and could be easily transformed into a more day-today look by swapping out the skirt for a pair of jeans.

Mom Jeans

Happy Monday! You wouldn't believe these photos were only taken a day ago if you could see the weather I'm currently confronted by at work, despite my love of winter, this rain needs to stop! Anyway, let me introduce you to what is the most unlike me outfit ever containing no black, baggy jeans and a white t-shirt...and I happen to love it!

Casual Cardigan

You wouldn't really know from these photos judging by my composure and awfully spring-themed outfit but it was actually blowing a force-ten gale while trying to take these. It was also hail stoning and monsoon conditions about five minutes before, clearly I know who to hide it well and how to choose photos from the million and one windswept options available to me!

Pink Faux Fur Coat

Faux fur. Pink faux fur. There’s something about the texture and array of colours that draws you in and not to mention the fact the it has really taken off an a huge trend over the past few seasons. Despite not being able to dress in head-to-toe fur, as that would be rather crazy and I’m not sure I could pull that off, I think key pieces like coats and bags inject the trend into a look perfectly. I picked up this pink faux fur mix coat from the Zara sale last week and since have worn it several times…
