For today, I'm bringing you a 'I want to wear pastel colours in winter' post. A very weather appropriate one at that. I always feel like I have to wear dark colours only throughout Autumn/Winter and I'm a fan of black clothes as much as the next person, but occasionally I buy something that I just really want to wear, despite it totally going against this rule. Case and point with this pink faux fur number.

Blue Popsicle

January Sales Haul | Video
I like to save most of my larger, luxury purchases for the January sales as you can get some serious bargains. TREND | Dusty Pink
Many of you (including myself) may have already bought into this trend but for those of you who don't know, dusty pink and pastel pink have been huge this year, appearing all over the catwalks in September, and they are set to make another appearance in SS16 in a big way.
I for one, am so on board for this trend as pink is definitely one of my favourite colours and towards the second half of this year, I've definitely added a lot of pink items to my wardrobe. Pink faux fur being key. Now this definitely isn't a trend for everyone, but if you are wanting to inject a bit of colour into your wardrobe, or you like that girly appearance of a pink item, then I'd suggest you keep your eyes peeled in the sales for some key pieces!

Black and Silver Falabella
Since getting an office job a few months back, I've had to add to my office wear wardrobe but personally, I like wearing things to work that could also be worn at the weekend and aren't your 'typical' suit office look. In my casual outfits I pretty much always wear jeans so for work I like to wear skirts/dresses pretty much everyday and this leather-look skirt is one of my favourites, it just seems to go with so much!

The sun is still sticking around despite it getting rather chilly as of late and I'm desperately willing the colder weather so I can fully commit to wear coats. That being said, I do love being able to wear sunglasses and not feel like a fool and this just so happens to be the debut of my Quay Australia 'My Girl' sunnies - you know the ones, the ones that literally everyone owns!
I've also added to my ever-expanding trainers collection with these metallic silver Nike's that are not my usual style but I love how they look with this cooled toned outfit; I'm not imagining them with an all black look too. I picked these up at a local Nike Outlet and they were a bargain, I'd definitely recommend giving outlets a go as you can get some great buys for a fraction of the price. The rest of the outfit is press casual with these slouch fitting Mom jeans, a basic white tee and my favourite neoprene coat.

Transitioning Into Autumn





Let me introduce you to my two new favourite pieces in my wardrobe. This amazing faux fur River Island gilet is something that's been on my list for a while and I finally picked it up a few weeks ago after having a rather great discount card from Elle. I can see it taking me into autumn/winter quite well. I also managed to find this dogtooth Michael Kors Selma bag in T K Maxx (for a bargain price!) and it is just the perfect size for everyday and can make an otherwise boring outfit stand out. I'd highly recommend checking out T K Maxx if you're looking for MK or other designer pieces for a fraction of the price.
I would ideally have like to have paired this look with either a pair of black chelsea boots, which I'm yet to find, or a pair of Ugg boots that I've had my eye on for years now, again, these are yet to be bought! That being said, I think it works just as well with flat shoes like these, especially if it's a slightly warmer day.

The Pink Gilet



I recently started a new job and it's a big change for me in terms of it being an office wear dress code. Me being me though, I'm not one to stick to basics and instead I like to mix it up with patterns, pops of colour and occasionally faux fur. I actually picked this pink gilet up from Matalan, which isn't a shop I usually shop in but I'm so glad I did as it was a bargain for £20! I can see it being great for smarter outfits like this, as well as with more casual jeans and a shirt - I'm having a real faux fur gilet moment as you'll see again in next weeks outfit post...

Tie It Up




I've finally had chance to shoot some new outfit photos and my blogging mojo is officially back! I'm really trying to work on my blog photography and editing skills and I'm quite pleased with how my shots have come out for these upcoming outfits. I plan on uploading two outfits a week (Monday and Thursday) among my other beauty and fashion posts.
I'm currently in the process of adding some new pieces to my wardrobe and this Primark jumper is one of my favourite new additions (It also comes in grey!) - the tie up detail just makes it slightly more interesting, which I like and keeping it casual with slip ons and an oversized coat makes it perfect for the weekend.

August Wishlistin'

This seems like a rather confused wishlist, what with the mix of an oversized knitted cardigan, sunglasses and open-toed flats. I think this is my way of trying to dress weather appropriately while secretly wishing it was Autumn - I'm over summer now. Is anyone else feeling ready for Autumn already? It's been rather cold and gloomy lately anyway so I think this wishlist is justified. Bring back coats, boots and lots of layers!
I'm in need of...chunky knits, suede boots, lace up details, the perfect autumn hat, oversized sunnies and statement necklaces.

Saint Laurent 'Style Is Eternal' - Farfetch.com

When I think of Saint Laurent as a brand, I immediately think of monochrome and timeless pieces that can be transitioned season after season, and that is exactly what the new Yves Saint Laurent: Style is Eternal exhibition is all about. Luxury fashion site Farfetch.com are challenging bloggers like myself to put together a Saint Laurent look centred around the iconic Le Smoking Tuxedo jacket that could be worn for eternity without ever going out of fashion.
Now as soon as I found out bout this competition I knew I wanted to do an all-monochrome look but move away slightly from the classic tuxedo jacket and tailored trousers option so I opted for these zip detailed leather trousers to give it an overall edgier feel, while still being timeless. I paired these with a classic white shirt with a twist by choosing this ruffled pussy bow style and a rather statement (but still timeless) studded chain bag that I personally have had my eye on for some time.
To finish off the look I decided to give two shoe options, a smart tasselled loafer for the day and a classic pair of strapped sandals for the night. Both could be switched depending on your lifestyle of course! For the finishing touches I'd add a pair of black sunglasses and a slight pop of colour (most cliche statement ever) with this rather fabulous red lipstick pin.
I absolutely love this look and it would definitely be something I'd wear both during the day and in the evening. I like mixing up the smarter tuxedo jacket and shirt with the leather trousers and studded bag to give it a bit of edge and I can see this look being something that could be worn for years and years. This outfit is for sure eternal in my opinion...

Personal Style & Fashion Icons
When it comes to finding your own 'style' it can be a difficult task, trust me I know, but I've come up with a few things to think of if you're trying to really pinpoint your style and maybe even invest in a whole new wardrobe.
I'd suggest finding a few people, celebrities, friends or anyone really, whose style you really love; for me those are Gigi Hadid, Hannah from A Fashion Fix, Kendall Kenner and Kim Kardashian along with a whole host of other bloggers and celebs. Now there isn't really a set style that all these people share but I love different parts of how they dress and combined, it forms the type of style I like to wear, for example I love Kim K's casual looks and I try to incorporate this into my style alongside more smarter element that Hannah and Kendall have to their style.

Pink Leather Jacket (& a tortoise?!)

I'm finally back with another outfit post and apologies that it's so short, the sun was playing havoc with the quality and so these were the best photos I could find. Hopefully this photo of me and my grandma's tortoise makes up for the lack of actual outfit photos. This tortoise, Freda, has actually been around since I can remember and despite tortoises not being the most active pets (she literally just walks round her run and sleeps), I love visiting her and being the annoying one who picks her up to have a photo taken - at least one of us looks happy in the photo!

Wishlist | Birthday Edition
In just over a week I'm going to be turning the grand old age of 22 and as my main birthday present from my parents I'm actually going to see Idina Menzel live. I'm so excited as I loved her music even before she become widely known for her Frozen performance of 'Let It Go' - I'm clearly an old school fan. Anyway, despite that being my present I obviously have huge list of things I'd love to receive but I thought I'd put this together in case any of you have a birthday in June also and are wanting a little bit of gift inspiration.
The main things I have my eye on are this beaut River Island suede biker jacket, which would make the perfect spring/summer lightweight jacket - the cut and details are just fab - and the new Nike Huarache's in Pearl White. I've been coveting a pair of these for ages but none of the colour combinations really stood out to me until these appeared on my instagram timeline last week. The only drawback is that they are stark white so not the best in UK weather!
A controversial one is Kim Kardashian's book release, Selfish, which is essential an entire book dedicated to her selfies but I think it would make a great addition to my ever-growing book shelf. Then there's a lipstick I've had my eye on for some time and it's the Tom Ford Matte Lipstick in First Time that comes with beautiful packaging and an eye-watering price tag.
The final few bits are this Marc by Marc Jacobs iPhone 6 case, a pink fringed bag from Zara and gem drop earrings from Topshop and a Cosmopolitan subscription as I've found myself picking up this magazine for a good few months now.

Seasonal Dressing
This sort of outfit is my ideal spring day outfit as it's cool enough for those sunny moments but it's still layered for the usual UK windy weather. I love how sandals look paired with jeans and a lightweight jacket and this is just a great example of this, especially with the bold coloured cami to break up the otherwise rather neutral overal look.
