Personal Style & Fashion Icons

When it comes to finding your own 'style' it can be a difficult task, trust me I know, but I've come up with a few things to think of if you're trying to really pinpoint your style and maybe even invest in a whole new wardrobe.

I'd suggest finding a few people, celebrities, friends or anyone really, whose style you really love; for me those are Gigi Hadid, Hannah from A Fashion Fix, Kendall Kenner and Kim Kardashian along with a whole host of other bloggers and celebs. Now there isn't really a set style that all these people share but I love different parts of how they dress and combined, it forms the type of style I like to wear, for example I love Kim K's casual looks and I try to incorporate this into my style alongside more smarter element that Hannah and Kendall have to their style.

Suede It | SS15 Trend

Fashion has a real funny way of moving towards the future while still looking back to the past at the same time. Runways and LFW brought forward the 70s trend into the 21st century with Gucci and Saint Laurent being some of the stand-outs but while we all like to add a bit of quirkiness to our style now and again, that doesn’t mean you want to look like a 70s flashback. Bring hints of the 70s to your look instead with the fabric of the season: suede.

With SS15 comes the new leather. Hang up your stiff, shiny and bulky jackets in exchange for the new (or old) softness of suede. Brown of course is the go-to with this trend up grey and black are also solid contenders for a less ‘hippy’ look.

Now I am a creature of comfort and habit so I'll be sticking with outwear to embrace this trend and both of these jackets are to die for. For those on a budget, this fringed H&M option is perfect to bring in that festival 70s element to your outfit and for those long-term lusters like myself, this Warehouse beauty is perfect thrown over an oversized knit or worn with a basic tee.

A great way to work the suede trend without have to really invest into it is to opt for a bag instead. Tan, grey or black, any will work to inject a bit of this trend into your look without going full-on country girl - or pair a suede bag and mini skirt with an oversized knit or denim shirt for an effortless look.

Are you a fan of the suede trend this season?

fashion | dark florals

jacket (zara) | trousers (topshop)

Florals return each and every season in various different forms, from the super girly to the dark gothic Alexander McQueen 'McQ' - esque prints of last autumn/winter. Florals in general are not something I'm drawn to much as I tend to wear a lot of black, white and grey and many of the prints are bright, summery colours; this season however is seeing an increase in dark floral and dark prints in general. I say lets all add a bit of autumnal colours into our wardrobes and embrace the reds, burnt oranges and of course black!

Zara has some great pieces in store at the moment and one that I definitely have my eye on is this bomber jacket with a combination of dark florals and the other trend of the season, tartan (post to come soon on that) lining the pockets, sleeves and zip. I can see this piece as something that would remain in my wardrobe throughout the seasons as both a cool, lightweight jacket in spring/summer and layered under coats in the autumn/winter time. My Zara shopping basket just got its first item added!

I've wanted a pair of floral trousers for absolutely ages now but I've never really fancied any of the bright, in-your-face pairs that have been taking over the high street. However, this season I've seen so many more pairs embracing the autumn months and I'm so excited to get myself a pair, really fancy the  above pair from Topshop (right)!
