Donna Bella Ceramic Hair Straighteners

I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say that I tend to stick to the brands I know and the brands that are known. This is especially true of hair straighteners to which I'm a loyal GHD user and thought I always would be, I even had my eye on a pair of their new stylers before discovering this pair.

If you follow my instagram you'll probably know that I went to The Clothes Show Live on Saturday and among the many many beauty purchases I made (reviews to follow), I got to try out the straighteners and curling wand by American brand Donna Bella. This pair actually belongs to my mum as I plan on buying myself a pair in the new year, but we have both been using them all week and there is a noticeable difference in the way our hair looks.

Let's start with my mum who has naturally very curly, difficult hair, especially when straightening. She, like myself, has always used GHDs and such has been left with very dry and not always straight hair. With these straighteners they cut down the styling time by almost half and they leave my mums hair looking soft, smooth and most importantly, straight.

Now onto my hair. I very rarely use straighteners for their intended purpose but instead for curling my hair as it's quicker and easier for me personally. But like with my mum, using my GHDs has always left my hair looking rather dry meaning I have to apply a million and one products. With the Donna Bella straighteners they take even less time, which I didn't think was possible, and my hair feels so soft. Not only that, the curls actually last considerably longer than they usually do and I get get a more defined look.

I went into trying these straighteners feeling rather dubious about them actually being better but having only used them a week, I can honestly say that they beat my GHds hands down. Now I just need to get myself a pair so I can stop stealing my mums!

  1. Have you tried their curling wand? I purchased after being impressed at a wedding fair and I find them great.
