Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick | 34 La Raffinee

Before finally biting the bullet and buying this Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick, I pondered around various Chanel counters, looking at all the different finishes and shades before finally deciding to add this beauty to my ever-growing lipstick collection. This is my very first 'high-end' lipstick and I have to admit, I put off using it for a fair while at first for fear of damaging it, silly I know, but having tried it in store first, and now using it several times I can honestly say it's become a real favourite of mine.

Chanel 'La Raffinee' is a super wearable rosy pink shade that when applied is rich, pigmented and surprisingly moisturising for a matte lipstick. It applies beautifully to the lips and lasts around five hours before you need to reapply. I found that my lips felt smooth and somewhat moisturised after wearing this lipstick, which is something I honestly didn't expect and is something that is often hard to find with matte products. 

The velvet feel and matte look, along with the ever classy black and gold Chanel packaging - complete with  a 'click' mechanism to open - make this an incredible lipstick and although it comes with a hefty price tag, for such a luxurious feeling and looking product it's very much worth it in my opinion.
