beauty | worth the splurge?

When it comes to high-end, expensive products there's always the underlying question of: 'Is this really worth the splurge?' quickly followed by 'oooo what pretty packing!'. I find myself facing both this predicament on a regular basis and so I thought I'd show you some of the things that in my opinion, are worth that little extra splurge.

For my base I find YSL to be the best and their Touche Eclat foundation is by far the best I've ever tried. It's so lightweight while still giving a good medium coverage lasting all day. A huge superficial plus for this product is also the super luxurious glass bottle and gold lid which just scream out for the splurge! For lips Chanel really are quite the hefty priced products and I will admit now that I did buy this lipstick originally for both the Chanel label and the absolutely beautiful packaging. That being said I have found myself actually loving the formula of this lipstick and as it's semi-matte the lasting power is just fab! For a great all-round neutral eye shadow selection I'd definitely say the Naked palette is worth that little extra spend. The shadows have just intense pigmentation and you do get an awful lot for your money in the terms of quantity and quality. So worth it!

For perfume I chose my most expensive and it really is pricey (I was lucky enough o receive it as a gift) but I'd totally repurchase this whenever the time came. The scent is beautiful, the bottle is beautiful and it's by Stella McCartney so surely that alone is worth a little splurge? This one is sort of a cheat as I got it free with a magazine but having used the Neom hand cream a lot since then I do honestly believe I would repurchase it if I ever ran out. It's not super pricey on the grand scheme of things and it leaves your hands feeling super soft and the smell is just divine! Finally we come to Real Techniques brushes and although I only own two and they aren't really that expensive, they are still a big enough price tag for me to feel like I'm splurging. The quality of these brushes is great and I definitely plan on purchasing the core collection and the eye collection in the not so distant future!

What are your favourite high-end products? Are they worth the splurge?

  3. I love my YSL Touche Eclat foundation, I've repurchased it twice and I'm definitely going to again - it's my all time favourite. I used to own the Naked Palette, but didn't get too much use out of it, so just sold it on in a blog sale. Although I received my Chanel lipstick as a gift, I'll definitely repurchase it. And I own so many RT brushes and they're definitely worth it.

I've been dying to try the Stella perfume too. Great list.
